| In response to clearing firm issues relating to API conversions and testing, the launch date of the new Allocate and Claim System (ACS) application has been extended to Friday, December 6, 2002. It is our expectation however; that all firms complete their conversion to load the GUS-MQM messages no later than Friday, November 22nd. Additionally, firms that rely on screen-scraping applications must completely convert to the full ACS API to ensure their ability to process give-ups seamlessly in an automatic manner. This is critical, because on December 6th, the ACS application will replace the existing 3270-based GUS application. Consequently, existing screen-scraping applications will no longer work. Many firms have already successfully converted and tested the new application. Those that have not must complete their conversions by November 22nd to ensure an adequate amount of time to test their readiness prior to the December 6th launch. Firms that rely on a physical terminal to manually allocate and claim their give-ups, must ensure that their staff is fully trained on the new ACS web-browser screen application. Also, please be reminded that ACS will only be accessible through the CME Portal via the Internet. Contact a Client Management representative to schedule time at one of our hands-on training sessions or to obtain access to the portal.
